Bringing a Childhood Cricket Dream to Life: My Journey as a Player
February 11, 2023My thoughts on MBA (Master of Business Administration) – A degree I used to criticize from undergrad till 2018
February 11, 2023In this post, I’m diving into five cutting-edge AI tools that are changing the game in the world of writing, video and audio editing, storytelling, transcription, and media manipulation. From Compose.ai, an AI-powered autocompletion and text generation tool, to Runway, a platform for artists to use machine learning tools in intuitive ways, these tools are sure to streamline and enhance your workflow. Whether you’re a content creator, researcher, or just looking for some new tech to play with, these tools are worth checking out. Read on for my personal thoughts and experiences with each tool.
- Compose.ai – Compose AI is a Chrome extension that cuts your writing time by 40% with AI-powered autocompletion & text generation. (Completely free at the moment)
My thoughts – I used this tool today for around 30 minutes and it’s pretty awesome for email-related stuff. - Descript (https://www.descript.com/)- Descript is a simple, powerful, and fun way to edit videos and podcasts. (Free version gives you a limited use, the Creator version starts at $12 per month)
My thoughts– I haven’t used it personally yet but looking at the videos of other users, this seems to be a super cool tool for video and podcast editing. - Tome (https://beta.tome.app/)- AI-powered storytelling format for work and important ideas. Generate entire narratives from scratch or create additional content pages within seconds (500 free credits given on account creation)
My thoughts – This has been my favorite tool among these 5. Simply type the idea on which you want a presentation and it will give you a decent enough-looking template. Then again use the inbuilt chatgpt function to rephrase the content as many times as you want.
- Rewind.ai (https://www.rewind.ai/) – Provides real-time transcription and automated note-taking within a remote and video-based world. (First 30 days free then $20 a month – no free version)
My thoughts – It may not seem as useful as other ones from the look of it but another good tool for people who do a lot of research/reading on laptop/PC. Basically, they are going to record everything you are doing and store this stuff on your laptop locally in a highly compressed manner (3,750x times) and do a search through these recordings whenever you search for a keyword.
- Runway (https://runwayml.com/) – A platform for artists to use machine learning tools in intuitive ways without any coding experience for media ranging from video, and audio, to text. (Free version gives you 3 projects, and the Pro version starts at $12 per month)
My Thoughts – Again I haven’t been able to use it personally due to time constraints but the videos I have watched on its use are insane. Again majorly relevant for video editing (Specifically if you want to remove an object in an already recorded video or want to change the background completely) – Definitely some mind-boggling stuff.
Disclaimer: This post is not a recommendation to use these tools as I have shared what I have been able to learn about these tools. Please use them at your own discretion.
